I Love Fall

Isn't this the cutest truck? And that Jack-O-Lantern weathervane!! SO wonderful!

This is from my recent weekend get-away--yes, gone from the store on a weekend! My friend Anna invited another friend and I to her wonderful home in Carmel Valley and did we have fun! Shopped, ate, shopped, ate, shared recipes, ate, talked until we were losing our voices and just reveled in the friendship and support of 3 ladies at new places in our lives. Isn't that what girlfriends are all about?

My poor little blog has been sorely neglected of late, but I hope you will visit my website when you have a moment: www.2birdsofafeather.com where you will see what I have been doing with my spare minutes (smile). There is now an ONLINE STORE and some recent pictures of the store with the new Fall look! More stuff is arriving every day and, of course, I am also stashing away goodies for the "Remnants of the Past" barn show in Nipomo on October 2nd! It is one day only from 9-4, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Spring!

Spring is in full swing at Birds of a Feather with bunnies and chicks peeking out of every corner! We also have a display honoring our seaside home with pond boats, old sand pails, shells, vintage floats, books on the seashore and Lori Mitchell beach figures. The bird related displays are full of old cages, wonderful real nests, eggs of all kinds and Clarence Mattos' hand carved birds--soo cute!

Three pieces of Vintage Julie Whitmore faience ware have just arrived--love her work! and gardening is the theme on two of the tables...old flower frogs, old children's garden tools, vintage French seed packet labels, and old seed box, wheelbarrows, watering cans...oh, did I have fun gathering!!

Hope you can stop by soon...did I mention we have chocolate bunnies and eggs???

Post Valentine's Day!

Well, today is my first day back at the store after a few days off for the Arroyo Grande show and a day or two of errands, laundry and exciting things like that! Lots of new things to look forward to this week...restocking the store for the next two weeks and preparing for the Spring Open House on March 6-7!
My goodness this new year is just flying by!

This photo is a little glimpse of a big collection of white ironstone that I recently purchased. Ironstone is so wonderful--sturdy, practical, yet elegant and goes with most any other dishes! I love it and am so excited to have these lovely large pieces to offer my customers.

Don't forget I'll be closed the week before my 10th Anniversary Spring Open House--busy changing the whole store over to Spring and Easter old and new. Visit my website: www.2birdsofafeather.com for an update soon of what will be featured at the open house!

Enjoy Spring!

Oh my gosh, so many new ribbons arriving every day! It's like Christmas all over again! The dark red one in the photo says "Bon Appetit"--looks so cute tied on a cello bag filled with cooking spoons, cheese bread sticks, the options are limitless! My photo isn't great--sorry! but, the blue one on the left is seashells, next one has little tiny butterflies, then "Save the Date," "Happily Ever After," then the "Bon Appetit." I hope to add more new ribbon photos on the website in the next few days: www.2birdsofafeather.com Hope you have an inspiring week!

Happy Valentine's Day

What an amazing drive to work today! The sky was a clear blue with puffy white clouds, the ocean was calm again and that deep, deep blue green, and the hills are a wonderful dark velvet green. Quite a special gift for today!

I couldn't wait to get to the store--I love walking in and being greeted by a new theme and this current one of Valentine's Day is especially happy! And then there was another treat--boxes of new ribbons! What more could a girl want??! I will try to get photos of them posted soon.

My hope for this new year is to be better at keeping up this blog--I plan to have a life AND a store--but this will become a higher priority than it has been these past few months!!

For more photos of the current store inventory AND your copy of the new newsletter, please visit my sebsite: www.2birdsofafeather.com and click on "What's New" for the photos. For the newsletter, click on the tab "newsletters" and then on January 2010.

Happy 2010 to you and especially, Happy Valentine's Day--may your heart be filled with joy and love for the whole year through!
